An area of growth for us in recent years has been international estate planning and we act for a large number of clients from a UK South Asian, Arab and Muslim (‘SAAM’) background in particular. We are firmly recognised as a centre of excellence in providing advice to SAAM clients who have assets situated in the UK subject to inheritance tax. We consider key issues such as domicile, religious rules, cultural norms, practical issues, and jurisdictional considerations before delivering advice to clients (as opposed to simply including a faith / culture-based estate division within a Will). Ikhlas Ahmed is integral to the provision of advice within this niche SAAM market and also provides technical training on the subject both internally and externally.
