Cedar Court Hotel Bradford has built a great reputation for itself as THE place to host an event, large
or small within the city. The hotel enjoys huge popularity amongst the local Asian community,
especially for their wonderful weddings and celebrations. We are also extremely proud to be an
employer of note in the area and its community, welcoming so many talented youngsters into the
business such as Sana.

Sana grew up in the local area and saw the potential to grow her career ambitions in hospitality.
Cedar Court Hotel Bradford in particular! She was drawn in by the new environment, exciting
atmosphere and by the opportunity to meet like-minded peers from different backgrounds.

After studying Business and IT, Sana gained a degree in Travel and Hospitality Management at
Bradford University (she was actually the only Asian female on her course). All with an eye on
following her long-held ambitions to secure that role within a hotel, specifically a hotel in Bradford
as she is so passionate about the area.

A turning point in her life was when a friend offered her a casual position in our very own Cedar
Court Hotel Bradford! Shortly after, Sana’s career really took off, she progressed quickly from a
casual role to a Guest Service Host (even Covid and furlough did not stand in her way!) and she
continues to grow from strength to strength.

Sana loves working for Cedar Court Hotel as no two days are the same. She adds:’’ You meet people
from all walks of life, it is a locally rooted business with strong ties to the community. Also, the
company’s incentive programme is a great driver. But, for me, it’s the opportunity to grow and
support the company gives to develop women in leadership.’’

Her role is very versatile and involves dipping in and out of departments on regular basis. Anything
from the reception to food and beverage service or assisting at events. The list goes on!

Sana won a quarterly ‘Holiday Hero Award’. This is an award for outstanding achievement and
contribution voted for by her colleagues, which makes it all the more special! Sana has also become
the hotel representative for our partnership with the Yorkshire Asian Business Association (YABA).
Another achievement under her belt.

Most recently an opportunity to take part in a supervisory course came her way. Naturally, she
jumped at it! Sana wants to develop her career and sees Cedar Court Hotel Bradford as a great place
to do just that.
