Eid Mubarak

YABA will be  Celebrating Eid in Partnership with the Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC), thanks to Mark Arthur CEO of YCCC and his team, the event will be hosted in the newly refurbished Emerald Suite at the YCCC.  In true YABA style there will be lots of valuable networking opportunities, a delicious buffet provided by award winning My Lahore and presentations by headline sponsor  DLA Piper.  We are also honoured to be joined by Qari Asim MBE Legal Director at DLA Piper, Chair of Mosques & Imams National Advisory Board and Trustee Hope not Hate & British Future who will share his thoughts on  the significance of Ramadhan and Eid.

At the Celebrating Vaisakhi & Easter 2nd May 2019,  YABA hosted over a 100 guests at the Great Victoria Hotel in Bradford, this was in  partnership with Schofield Sweeney and LOCALIQ. Thanks to our compere for the evening former BBC Asian Network presenter Tommy Sandhu, it  was a great evening , our guests listened to presentations from  Kiran Kaur Bhogal who gave an overview of the Sikh Faith and the importance of Vaisakhi, from Schofield Sweeney Gemma Sherbourne gave a presentation on Employment Law  and  Ikhlas Ahmed who talked about Inheritance tax. Other presentations were from Steve Lowe   LocalIQ  who gave an overview of a new service supporting businesses to improve  social media exposure  and how extend  customer reach.  There was also   special Vaisakhi message from Mr Sunondo Mohan Chakraborty, Head of the Chancery  Consulate General of India, Birmingham.  The event was rounded off by Rajeev Dewedi Senior Partner Shenward Accountancy and Business Solutions.

Helping students to think big

We would like to welcome Mohammed Hussain as the “Head of Education & Community” at YABA. Leading in the challenge of raising aspiration within schools in Yorkshire. Mohammed aka Mo,  will be bringing an unmeasurable amount of energy to making a difference to young children and the importance they play to the futureof the economy. He has passion in breaking away from the status quo and firmly believes to make difference we should start at grass root levels.   Mo has leading-edge expertise in working with companies to optimise their creative potential, build on innovative methods and entrepreneurial capability within the organisational culture. A complete people person, he combines his coaching and enabling skills to push the potential of individuals to break the glass ceiling and succeed in their given industries. With a background in management, leadership, financial services and business consultancy, we are excited with the new appointment.

Facilitating a Multi-Product Business delegation from India

Hosted by B Works (powered by Yorkshire Bank) on the 2nd May  in Manchester we supported the  Consulate General of India with business to business meetings for the  Federation of Indian Export Organisation, The Federation of Indian Export Organisations represents the Indian entrepreneur’s spirit of enterprise in the global market. Known popularly as “FIEO”, this apex body of Indian export promotion organizations was set up jointly by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India and private trade and industry in the year 1965. Women in Leadership lunch event in partnership with Squire Patton Boggs and the IoD

YABA were one of the key partners at this event which was hosted by YABA partners SPB on the 14th May, it was good to meet with and hear from inspiring  leaders sharing experiences and good practice, Prew Lumley SPB facilitated the roundtable and Anna Daroy, IoD Director General for Operations – talked about ‘What is  Leadership’ from an IoD and personal perspective.  The next event which will be on 11th July in Bradford will be facilitated by Fleur Butler, founder of Power of Women (PoW) and  Chair of the Conservative Party Women’s Organisation (National role) other partners will include the IoD and She Business UK.  The guest speaker line up will include Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Poonam Kaur FDS Director Services and Fatima Patel Asian Sunday.  If you would like to attend or for more information please contact Sharon@yaba.uk.com

CBI extends invitation to the investment or exporting interests across the Indian Subcontinent event 27th June 2019

Join YABA at the CBI  roundtable discussion with guest speakers Shehla Hasan, Head of CBI Delhi Office along with representative(s) from Invest India. Shehla will share her thoughts and analysis on the work of the CBI’s India office so that you can better understand the latest developments on key markets, emerging markets and opportunities in India.

Shehla is one of the most influential women in the India/UK business corridor, so we are delighted that she will be visiting Yorkshire once again to share her expert insight.  Shehla will provide insight into the results of India’s general election. Shehla will be also be joined at this event by representative(s) from Invest India, India’s nodal government investment promotion agency.

This is a networking event for business executives at all levels with investment or exporting interests across the Indian Subcontinent. India for Newbies A  business programme to explore trade opportunities in India

The ‘New to India’ business programme is a three-month programme which will enable you to access the expertise and experience needed  to start and work on a strategy for trade with India.  Bespoke support will be made available for any company with a product or service that can be sold to the Indian market (with little or no experience of doing business with India) and wants to develop that business quickly and effectively.  The ‘New to India’ business programme includes training, identifying business partners, a visit to India and meeting potential business partners, translations, interpreting and ongoing support for a robust export plan and first sales deal in India.

The Programme includes:

  • Accessing the suitability of your product or service for India
  • Training on how to do business in India
  • Identification of suitable partners for your product/service
  • Due diligence on the suitable partners
  • Arrangements for a visit to India
  • Supporting with marketing material, web site content  and other promotional information  – Arranging the visa and travel
  • Pre-visit briefing – Accompanied trade visit to India, Inc. economy flights, visa, accommodation, transport in India and interpreter, full bespoke meeting programme will be arranged for all on the ‘New to India’  business programme
  • Next steps: follow up on leads, develop business in India
