On Saturday the 9th of March 2024 the second African-Caribbean Recruitment Day organised by the collaborative effort of the teams at ADIRA, BITC, Project 6, Opportunity Sheffield, and Business Sheffield was a remarkable success.
The incredible turnout saw 515 job seekers flooding in to seize the plethora of opportunities available at the event. The overwhelming response was evident from the get-go, with 128 eager individuals arriving within the first 30 minutes alone. The event, thoughtfully designed to accommodate the diverse needs of attendees, provided not only recruitment opportunities but also a play area for families, delicious food, and invaluable advice on training and learning opportunities. By hosting the event on a weekend, accessibility for individuals balancing work and caregiving responsibilities during the week was ensured.
As we reflect on this tremendous success, we eagerly anticipate sharing the insights and lessons learned via the evaluation report. These learnings will enhance the next event on Saturday 6th July 2024.
