The Howarth Foundation are doing some fantastic work in our community and the pictures show some of the guys they are working with who are jobless and homeless (they live in a hostel known as supported accommodation) that they support every Tuesday by providing them with exercise and sporting activity in partnership with the West Riding County FA, Action for Sport and the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust on a joint initiative called The Home Run Project.

The Howarth Foundation is not just about finding jobs for the homeless but delivers a totally holistic approach by coming up with initiatives like The Home Run Project to help the homeless by way of integration, bonding, confidence building and to promote positive mental health, helping those less fortunate to become work ready.

Please take the time to look at the middle picture of Mohammed, with one of our support workers, sporting a very trendy cone on his head, who three months ago was shy and reluctant to communicate through his lack of confidence and self-deprecation but now he attends the sessions every week and has become quite the character of the group, in addition to making new friends.

Everybody needs somewhere to live, somewhere to work and someone to love. The Howarth Foundation is looking for support from any business to join it’s Business Building Futures Programme that would like to make a different to someone’s life.
