The Howarth Foundation (THF) is a limited company and registered charity since 2016 for the prevention or relief of poverty in respect of individuals who are, or who have recently been, homeless, sofa surfing, fleeing domestic violence, in unsafe or unsuitable accommodation, at risk of homelessness or without a roof to call their own in the districts of Leeds, Kirklees, Bradford and Calderdale by actively sourcing employers willing to offer meaningful and sustainable employment and by providing those individuals with training, support and guidance.

THF, is a self-funded family charity generating income by fund raising, events and donations and through its Business Building Futures (BBF) initiative engaging with socially responsible organisations to offer financial and employment support to the foundation and its clients.

Recognising that homelessness is a public sector problem, THF offers a private sector solution with the committed aim of providing a ‘hand up’ and not ‘hand outs’ policy through the gift of employment and training reestablishing individual self-worth, dignity, and inclusion.

The Foundation’s CEO Andy Howarth LL.B (Hons) is confident that homelessness can be eradicated but only with the total commitment of businesses and forward thinking leaders.

“Local authorities have consistently failed the homeless and society can no longer rely on central or local governments to provide an answer, but I firmly believe that the private sector, working collaboratively, has the solution”
