What is the Business Growth Project?

As part of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership Growth service, Our Business Growth Project aims to provide Calderdale business owners with a unique one-to-one service which will provide access to support, knowledge, and solutions to help achieve growth plans or overcome business challenges.

Over the past two years our SME Growth Managers, Jon and Chris have helped over 250 businesses to

  • Develop their workforce with recruitment and skills which includes helping develop the role, explore apprenticeships, or connect them with local talent.
  • Forward planning with a focus on new products or services and accessing support to develop strategies, marketing plans and operational changes.
  • Discuss and explore premise needs to meet the needs of their growing business.
  • Access to support and knowledge to adopt greener business models.
  • Make investment go further with grant support for new equipment and machinery.
  • Connect with local businesses, schools, expertise, and projects.

Who are the Growth Managers?

Christine Robinson

Christine is new to the Growth Manager Role in Calderdale and brings over 20 years of experience with businesses and business support projects. She is a programme and partnership manager with a focus on business development. Christine is looking forward to engaging with businesses to discuss their growth ideas, potential barriers and to help them access support to achieve their goals.

Jon Crowther

Jon has over 16 years of business support experience working for Calderdale Council and more recently, the LEP (Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership). He is passionate about Calderdale and has good knowledge of the local business community through his links with Business for Calderdale, Calderdale & Kirklees Manufacturing Alliance, and the local business networks. Jon is also knowledgeable about the local commercial property market and works with many local landlords and commercial agents.
